My team was on a good roll going into the tournament. In the first round, we beat the Graham Falcons, a team full of goons. We ended up beating them 3-2 with our final goal scored in over time. Then our next game was Bellfountain, and sadly we lost to them. We should have ended up winning this game because we scored early on, but then Bellfountain scored to goals where they were offsides. Now I am a licensed referee, and these assistant referees blew the offsides call, and it was obvious they were offside. I try not to complain much about referees since I am one myself, but these guys were not in a good position at all and that caused them to miss the calls. Let me make this clear though, I am not blaming this game on the referees. My team had a few chances that we messed up. This was also a hard loss because it was my last time playing with my brother on the soccer field. It was a good season playing with him and I’ll remember this season.

I’m sure it was a tough loss to the season but it sounds like you guys fought hard. I’m sure you’ll be eager to go back at it next season. Good luck to both you and your brother as you guys continue on your careers.
